Nantou County is a large county where there are mountains and ragged terrains that make the road to rescue far and long. On top of that, there is a Class I active fault (the Chelungpu Fault) running through the county, as well as the threats of 262 potential debris flow torrents. All of these result in the increased possibility of compound disasters in Nantou! For this, it is at the top of the Fire Bureau’s priority list to create a living space where all citizens are free of threats to their lives and properties. In addition to the three major tasks, namely the prevention of fire, disaster rescue and emergency aids as the law requires, the Fire Bureau is working on disaster prevention, disaster evacuation and emergency aids for the socially disadvantaged, and keeps the principles of “better in mind to prevent disasters than rescue, and better to keep disasters away than prevent them” based on the administration concepts of the Mayor, which is “make good use of intelligent disaster prevention and create a livable city!” Let’s create a living environment that is safer with greater quality for all citizens.
The era of information is evolving and people’s living quality is improving. For the task of playing active for the service for people, the Bureau has 22 brigades at all township and cities in Nantou to provide service 24-7 for all citizens with the attitude of “citizens as family.” We are committed to creating a team to provide all-round motivated service to make citizens feel our presence, and bring the best out of the county hall for the service quality.
