National Fire Agency (NFA), Ministry of Interior had a counseling visit at Red Cross Hall on August 7, 2023 for its "Medium-term Plan to Strengthen Disaster Prevention and Rescue Volunteer Disaster Relief Assistance and Capacity". The event was hosted by Section Chief Hsu Huiping to greet the plan promotion team led by Wu Dongfeng, leader of the Civilian Utilization Group of NFA, as they came to the Bureau.
The equipment and supplies purchased for this medium-term plan were jointly donated by NFA and Nantou County Government. The subsidy recipient this year was the "Nantou County Red Cross Society". The equipment purchased according to the needs of the disaster prevention and rescue groups was also displayed at the scene: 2 sets of remote-controlled life-saving equipment, 2 SUP sets, 2 heavy duty diving sets, 1 underwater propeller, 4 full-body safety harnesses, 2 multi-functional rope rescuers, 2 disc cutters and a pulley system.
The visit meeting was briefed by the Training and Education Section on how the purchase worked out, the receivers of the equipment, the implementation of the medium-term plan, and the comprehensive training situation of disaster prevention and rescue volunteers, how the medium-term plan was making progress, and the KPI achievements in 2023 and work performance of 2023. The promotion team listened to briefings and exchanged their opinions to reach a consent on the future direction. It is hoped that the plan will go smoothly and the capacity of disaster prevention and rescue volunteers will be gradually strengthened.
