Governing areas summary：Lugu Township lies in southwest of Nantou County, east to Shueili Township and Sinyi Township, west and south to Jhushan Township, north to Jiji across Jhuoshuei River; it is about 9km wide from east to west，and 16km long from north to south, with a total area of 141.89 km2, it is circulated by mounts in the east, south and west, with semi-tropical climate warm in winter and cool in summer; the highest mount Mt. Lingtou is 2025M above sea level, and the well-known Mt. Fonghuang is 1698M high; most of the areas in the Township are formed by the extending parts of the two mounts，which sloping down in the north and south like a rectangle. About 45% of the people in Lugu Township are mainly supported by production of tea and bamboo shoot, tea is grown in more than half of the farming areas, and is the most important economic crop of Lugu Township.
